Now, Whistleblowers can submit any tip they have against a ministry, department or agency of the Nigerian government at whistle.finance.gov.ng. Offenses that can be submitted include fraud, mismanagement of public funds and assets, violation of financial regulations, the collection of bribes, manipulating data and records and any other form of corruption involving government funds and assets.

When tips lead to the successful recovery of ill-gotten funds, whistleblowers are entitled to “between 2.5-5% of the amount recovered.

However, if you use the Whistleblowing portal to expose illegal activity, your information may be dangerously vulnerable due to the lack of basic HTTPS encryption that protects Internet traffic from eavesdroppers, so the “security” and  “confidentiality” they promised can’t realistically be guaranteed.
