17-Year Old ‘Aminata’ tells her Heartbreaking Story of being Kidnapped & held for Two Years by Boko Haram

Two years ago a 15-year old ‘Aminata’ was taken by Boko Haram against her will and forced to marry an insurgent. She had no choice but to live with the insurgents, for two years, until she finally managed to escape. She is now an internally displaced person (IDP) living in one of many camps established in north-eastern Nigeria and in this interview with UNICEF’s Kent Page, ‘Aminata’ shares her heartbreaking story of suffering and fear while she was held captive. Boko Haram murder 24 at village funeral – mostly women

Boko Haram militants have killed 24 people, mostly women, as they mourned at a funeral in a village in northern Nigeria, looting and burning their houses down. Suspected Boko Haram militants also attacked a village in Niger while a delegation of ministers was visiting, killing seven police officers and wounding 12 in a gun battle. (more…)

Parents of the missing Chibok girls have converged at the Unity Fountain where they will join the missing Chibok girls advocacy group, Bring Back Our Girls, on a match to Aso Rock where they are expecting to meet with President Buhari to inquire from him his efforts towards finding their daughters who have now been missing for a year and 265 days. Borno govt restricts movement from Dec 31st till Jan 2nd due to Boko Haram attacks

In a bid to stop any possible attack by Boko Haram members during the New Year celebration, the Borno state government has announced the restriction of vehicular movement as from 5.00pm Thursday 31st December 2015, to 6.00am on Saturday 2nd January 2016.  All the restrictions that is going on just leads to the question, is boko haram winning?    Hopefully NO! Borno State Commissioner of Information, Mohammed Bulama, made this known to several newsmen today December 31st "The measure becomes necessary in order to further safeguard lives and property of law abiding ci
