Kano preacher to die by hanging for ‘blaspheming’ Prophet Mohammed

A preacher ,Abdulaziz Dauda, popularly known as Inyass, was on Tuesday,sentenced to death by hanging after he was convicted of blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.  The trial was conducted in camera at the Kano higher sharia court . Inyass was arrested on August 18, 2015 in Abuja and brought to Kano to face trial on a two-count charge of blasphemy and inciting crisis. Kano to wed 2, 000 widows, divorcées

The Kano State Hisba board yesterday said it had commenced preparations for the mass wedding of another batch of 2,000 widows and divorcees in the state. The director-general of the board, Dr Abba Sufi, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano. Sufi said the preparations followed recent directive by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to the board to start arrangement for the wedding of another batch of 2,000 couples. (more…)
