Mikel, Iheanacho and Musa to battle for 2016 CAF award

The Confederation of African Football has released a 30 man shortlist for the 2016 African Player of the Year award, with John Obi Mikel, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa making the list. The Prestigious award, which will take place in Abuja on Thursday, November 5, 2016, will see the Nigerian stars battle the current holder, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon, Samuel Eto’o from Cameroon among several others. Kelechi Nwakali officially signs 5year deal with Arsenal

Arsenal has completed the signing of Nigeria U-20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali, making him their fourth signing of the summer. The Gunners have completed the signing of Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding thus far in the transfer window and are in the market to complete a couple more before the end of the summer transfer window. Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi all in the 35-man preliminary Rio Olympic squad

The Nigerian Football Federation has unveiled the preliminary 35-man football squad prepared by coach Samson Siasia, to represent Nigeria in the Summer Olympic games set for August in Rio de Janeiro. Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, Watford striker Odion Ighalo and Arsenal young revelation Alex Iwobi have all been included in the list.
