In an apparent bid to reduce traffic in Abuja especially along the ever busy Umaru Yar’Adua expressway which leads to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, President Muhammadu Buhari flew in a helicopter from Aso Rock Villa to the airport as he departed for Iran.

Abuja residents have always complained that they have to endure long hours of traffic as the 10-lane expressway is often closed for prolonged periods even before the president’s convoy hits the road, which halts the flow of traffic along that axis. The president’s decision to use a helicopter instead of the road will be considered a welcomed gesture by Abuja residents.
