It is beauty pageant season with the Miss World pageant going on right now in China and the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas. MBGN Universe 2015Debbie Collins is representing us and so far so good. In terms of African queens, Miss South Africa is gaining major traction as she has enjoyed maximum visibility during most of the activities. First planeload of Syrian refugees headed to Canada

After months of preparation, the first planeload of Syrian refugees was headed to Canada on Thursday, aboard a military plane to be met at Toronto's airport by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Trudeau's newly elected Liberal government scaled back the number of Syrian migrants it will accept by year end after the attacks in Paris sparked concern that bringing in 25,000 by Dec. 31 - an election promise - would not allow enough time for security checks. Bayelsa election: Install Timpreye Sylva and this country will go up in flames- Asari tells Buhari

In a statement he released today December 7th, Asari accused the Federal government of trying to rig the state governorship election to install APC governorship candidate Timpreye Sylva, an action he described as against the will of the people.
