US presidential candidate, Ben Carson, to visit Nigeria

US presidential candidate, Dr Ben Carson has announced that he will visit Nigeria later this month. He made the disclosure on Monday, December 7, 2015, during an interview with conservative radio host, Hugh Hewitt. The renowned neurosurgeon will also visit Kenya and Zambia during the trip which will begin on December 27. “To Nigeria, I want to get an idea from the people what the effects of Boko Haram are, what people are thinking, to see what the economic situation is there, and also there’s a medical school there named after me, which I want to visit,” Carson said.

Nigeria May Not Hold 2016 Population Census Says Commission

The National Population Commission has hinted that the conduct of the population census and head count for all Nigerians scheduled for 2016 would depend on the willingness of Nigerians and the Federal Government because of poor budgetary allocation. The commission also called for a review of The National Policy on Population to accommodate current realities “in view of recent changes in the demographic profile of the country.” (more…)
