The contestants of the sixty-fourth Annual Miss Universe pageant showcased their talents in some of the gorgeous pageant looks of all time on Sunday, December 13, in Nevada, Las Vegas.
For her talent, its a talent that has a free spirited mode of dressing and you could tell her from the way she dressed. And the talent of Miss Universe Nigeria, Debbie Collins was her love for poetry. She shared her experience on Instagram saying, “It was incredible performing one of my favorite poems for the first time to my beautiful contestants, and on the Miss Universe stage.”
Here’s the poem she recited:
I am like a rose
Handle with care stuck to bloodied petals
Rich in texture
Soft and delicate
Toughened and scaled by thorns
I bask in the glory of my twisted beauty
That blinded eyes cannot see
I am like a rose
Wholesome strength of character
Delicately seasoned with a fragrance so deep
Known to only me
My distinct fragrance
Created from hardness and love strung together
Birthed through pain and persecution
I am like a rose
Strengthened by life’s tumultuous storms
My courage lies in my ability
To be beautiful covered in thorns
I blossom unhindered and unafraid
Feed me
Cater to me
Water me
My fragility is yet strong
