Olajumoke Orisaguna, the bread-seller-turned-model, has been invited to deliver a motivational lecture at the Congress Hall Transcorp Hilton hotel, Abuja, on Saturday by 4pm. So indicates a photo that is fast gaining traction on social media, Facebook particularly. Don’t dare believe it! This has to be the joke of the century, because Nigeria’s luckiest woman of the moment is illiterate and cannot yet converse in English Language with the elite audience expected at Transcorp.
But write her off at your own peril – Olajumoke is primed to study Proficiency in English Grammar and Communication, and One-on-One Total Personality Development at Poise Graduate Finishing Academy. Expect some barnstorming motivational speeches from her afterwards. Still, you would be forgiven if you believed the poster! Overnight successes don’t come any better than Olajumoke’s. And if a bread seller ever managed to become a model overnight, who says an uneducated girl can’t become a motivational speaker overnight as well.
In any case, Olajumoke is supposedly being invited to Transcorp by a group that calls itself ‘ThePlayForum’. Why in the world should anyone take a ‘play’ group seriously? On Olajumoke, ThePlayForum must have certainly been playing! The real event? Yes, a programme is holding on Transcorp on Saturday. But the guest speaker is Olusegun Mimiko, governor of Ondo state. Kate Henshaw and Debola Williams are the moderators, while Ramsey Nouah is the anchor. Like play like play, ‘ThePlayForum’ just managed to fetch itself some free publicity for its programme!
