So I was shocked when I saw this trailer, which is very interesting by the way. But there is a but factor to it, the storyline is very controversial and very something something…. Lol, I feel sought of uncomfortable writing about this, so straight to the point!
The short Nigerian film known as Hell or High Water, which will be released come April, 2016. Tells the story of a young pastor loved and adored by the people around him. Things change for him when he has to confront a hidden truth about himself—a truth that could make or break him psychologically. But, whatever decision he makes, he is still going to crash and burn, for life as he once knew it would never be the same again. The story explores the reality of sexuality amidst spirituality, exorcism, blackmail, and family life. Hell or High Water challenges stereotypical narratives about sexuality and spirituality, according to Olumide Makanjuola. But when I watched the trailer, it came across to me as a film about a Pastor who was married but had trouble with his wife sexually because he wasn’t sure what his sexaulity was? Was he GAY? And what happens next?
And for me that were the main points in the movie… Can’t wait to watch it , Daniel K Daniel was inside, can’t wait to fully understand the role of his character!!
