2016 would have been the late Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday, so, to celebrate his life, the Italian manufacturer is introducing an extremely limited hypercar — one aptly dubbed the Centenario. Following in the footsteps of Lambo’s recent Sesto Elemento delivery in Hong Kong, the Centenario — which is based on theAventador SV — marks the 100-year milestone with sleek carbon fiber construction and a modified, more aerodynamic exterior that’s highlighted by an extended rear wing for added downforce. Under the hood is a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine — coupled to a rear-wheel drive system — capable of 770 horsepower and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds before topping out at 217 mph. The Centenario’s upgrades even extend to the interior as a 10.1-inch touchscreen display now comes with Apple CarPlay support.
Limited to just 40 production models (20 coupés and 20 roadsters), all Centenarios have already been spoken for at a starting price of $1.9 million USD.
