Trailer released for “Doctor Strange”
As part of the ongoing “phase three” of them Marvel Cinematic Universe, actor Benedict Cumberbatch had been tapped to play the one and only Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange. While not necessarily a major character in the MCU in terms of overall popularity, there is a continuing trend in the MCU to give less popular characters their own standalone films (as was the case for Paul Rudd’s“Ant-Man,” and the upcoming “Black Panther” film starring Chadwick Boseman as the title character).
In terms of the trailer itself, the two minute and two second snippet starts off with a rather ominous air (the sort one might expect of the character). There are a few moments that depict Strange in the emergency room following his accident, and a wide shot reveals his arms propped up and immobile. As the universe that his character inhabits involves dark magic, mysticism, and other concepts like alternate dimensions, the trailer almost feels like something one might expect out of the Wachowski’s “Matrix” or Christopher Nolan’s “Inception.” Says blastingnews.com
Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” opens in theaters on November 4th, 2016, and co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Tilda Swinton.
