If there’s one name associated with contouring, it’s Kim Kardashian-West. But as of today’sVogue Festival in association with Harrods, at which she was in conversation with Charlotte Tilbury and Vogue‘s Fiona Golfar, she’s over it.
“I think right now it’s more about nontouring, like real skin with less make-up on it. I’m trying to wear less… and my husband loves me without make-up,” she told the packed auditorium, which included said husband Kanye West in the front row. “Now when I travel I just bring a small make-up case, and I’m content with that. I’m really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer. I love contouring and I don’t think I’d stop contouring my nose – I know people think I’ve had a nose job but it really is just make-up!”
Further evidence of this move away from the heavily-contoured look comes from the news that Kardashian gave birth to her second child, Saint, sans make-up: “For my first baby I gave birth in full make-up, but none for my second,” she revealed, to squeals from Tilbury, whose own husband has never seen her without make-up. “Wearing make-up is just how I feel most empowered and confident… if he tries to come into the bathroom when I’ve taken it all off I have to chase him away,” the make-up artist admitted.
