It has been confirmed that the season 6 finale of Game of Thrones will be its longest episode ever — at over 69 minutes. The network has also confirmed the titles of the last two episodes, but stop reading here if you’re afraid of spoilers.
The title of episode nine is “the Battle of the Bastards,” and presumably refers to the Jon Snow vs. Ramsay Bolton face-off. GoT showrunners have long said that season 6 includes the biggest battle in the show’s history, and this one is likely it. The running time is 60 minutes. As for the finale, entitled “The Winds of Winter,” we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. The name is a nod to George R. R. Martin’s forthcoming novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire saga.
The ninth episode will air June 19, and the finale June 26. Are you excited?
