A dawn hyena attack on livestock at Keynrikkos, a suburb of Jos, capital of Plateau State, has put residents on the edge.
The area is located on the foot of a massive rock, believed to be the abode of some wild animals, including hyenas, said to have carried out such attacks in previous years.
The hyenas invaded the suburb at various intervals lasting between 2am to 4am, eating up goats in the area, residents told Daily Trust.
A resident who gave his name only as Bala, said he rose by daybreak to discover that his only goat was attacked and dragged some distance where he could spot only blood.
Bala, whose residence is located behind Nakogi Petrol Station, said the wild animals terrorised the entire area.
“We were kept awake by their wailings and attack on our goats,” he said.
