Doctors to begin nationwide strike on Thursday June 9th

Members of the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) has said that they will be going on a nationwide strike starting from Thursday June 9th. President of the association, Muhammad Askira, announced this today June 7th. According to him, they are taking the painful decision of embarking on the strike action following the failure of the federal government to meet its demands of better working condition and better remuneration. Buhari hands over to Osinbajo, writes National Assembly informing them of his medical trip to the UK

President Buhari has handed over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. Osinbajo will serve in acting capacity for the 10 days President Buhari will be away in the UK for medical checkup. President Buhari's letter to the senate was read on the floor of the house by the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, during plenary today June 7th. This is the first time President Buhari is transferring power to Osinbajo since they both came into power in May 2015.
