The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has appealed to prospective corps members over the delay in their mobilisation for the three weeks orientation programme.
The postponement of the 2016 batch A, stream II orientation course, which was initially scheduled to commence two weeks ago, sparked outrage among those affected.
But in a statement issued on Saturday, the NYSC management asked prospective corps members to be getting prepared.
“Based on the assurance received from the federal government regarding release of funds, the 2016 Batch ‘A’ (Stream II) orientation course will commence soon,” the statement read.
“Prospective corps members were however assured that a new date will be out as soon as the NYSC sorts out necessary logistics.
“Prospective Corps members are, therefore, requested to watch out for specific date for commencement of the exercise, which will be announced as soon as all necessary logistics are put in place.
“Management empathizes with the affected prospective corps members, and appeals for continued patience even as all efforts on the matter are fast yielding results.”
