It was only last month when Apple was allegedly in talks to acquire TIDAL. Recently, Kanye West posted a series of tweets, sharing his thoughts surrounding the current relationship between the two major music streaming services. The polarizing rapper, who is a co-owner of TIDAL including Jay Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and more, had stated that the “beef” between the two companies is “f—king up the music game.”
He urged Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, the company’s top executive Jimmy Iovine, its head of content Larry Jackson along with Jay Z, Drake and other folks to get “on the phone or in a room” with him this week to reach a consensus.
West shortly concluded his statements by saying that Apple should just write “Jay his check for TIDAL now,” and that they should stop trying to operate under the guise of “Steve”—assumedly yet undoubtedly, the late Steve Jobs.
