Women stage a peaceful protest over the murder of their monarch in Bokkos, Plateau State by suspected herdsmen

Women in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State on Wednesday, July 20, staged a peaceful protest to show their grievances over the gruesome killing of their traditional ruler. Sir Lazarus Agai, the traditional ruler of the Ron/Kulere tribe of Bokkos LGA was murdered by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Monday, July 18. The monarch was ambushed and murdered along along with his wife, son and bodyguard on his way back home from a farm at Sha village in Bokkos. The women, clad in black clothes, carried placards through the streets of Bokkos.

One confirmed dead as fighting breaks out again in Bokkos community in Plateau state

Few days after suspected herdsmen ambushed and killed Lazarus Agaei, a first class traditional ruler alongside his wife, son and police guard in Bokkos local government area in Plateau state, fighting broke out in the same area last night as unknown assailants stormed the village to carry out more attacks. Angry youths in the community this morning barricaded all major roads leading to the area and also blocked the convoy of the state commissioner of police Adekunle Oladunjoye who was there to assess the level of destruction.
