Mr. John Jwan Nden and his wife, were on Tuesday 22nd November 2016, kidnapped on the Kaduna – Abuja express way while travelling from Kaduna to Abuja. Mr Nden, a native of Panyam (Mangu LGA) and a director with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was said to have had his vehicle waylaid and then accosted by yet to be identified men.
At the time of filing this report, nothing was heard of about their whereabouts, but the suspected kidnappers were said to have called, demanding N15 million ransom. This will be the 3rd kidnapping of a high profile Plateau personality in Kaduna in the past week. Earlier in the week, the Secretary General of JNI, Sheikh Abdulaziz Yusuf – a 90 year old cleric and his driver were kidnapped enroute Kaduna. He has since been released. Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, the former Plateau state gubernatorial aspirant was then Kidnapped on Sunday 20th November in Kaduna town, whilst visiting President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura.
