Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was awarded a Masters Degree (MA) in Christian Theology by the management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) at its fifth convocation ceremony held at its permanent site in Abuja today January 16th. Taiwan’s ruling party has conceded defeat in the island's presidential elections as opposition leader Tsai Ing-wen has been elected the island’s first woman president. Ms Tsai, head of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) recorded more than 4,655,000 votes while Eric Chu of the ruling Nationalists or Kuomintang (KMT) had 2,614,000 votes.
