Papers obtained by Sahara Reporters from the DSS indicate that Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the IPOB, did not have arms in possession on October 15, 2015, when DSS agents arrested him.
The handwritten list of possessions compiled by the DSS and signed by Kanu shows that the pro-Biafra movement leader and Radio Biafra director had pieces of technology and items for digital communication in his possession, but it is not specified whether the equipment was used for Radio Biafra broadcasts.
Four laptops, two iPads, five computer modems, six mobile phones, 38 SIM cards for various mobile networks, a transmitter, several mixers and microphone equipment for recording were listed among the possessions, as well as Pierre Cardin trinkets, an assortment of colognes and body oils, male clothing, eyeglasses and wristwatches.
Below is a full handwritten list of items DSS confiscated from Kanu, as obtained by Sahara Reporters.
After Kanu’s arrest at the Tulip Hotel in Lagos, Lagos state, the DSS have later moved Kanu from Lagos to Abuja. Kanu’s lawyers and family have consistently reported he is being denied medical and legal attendance.
