BBC is resisting mounting pressure from the Presidency and National Assembly to stop it from airing the explosive interview granted it by interview the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari. A source within the Abuja Bureau of the BBC told Daily Trust that there was a letter from the Presidency asking the Hausa service of the BBC not to air the interview. (more…)
US singer Bob Dylan, has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first songwriter to win the prestigious award. The balladeer, artist and actor, is the first American to win since novelist Toni Morrison in 1993.
