Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten in intensive care after bizarre accident leaves her with three cracks in spine’ (Photos)

Annemiek van Vleuten, a female Dutch Cyclist at the Rio Olympics is in intensive care after she lost control ten kilometers from the finish line in a race that she was leading and flew head over heels, smacking her head into the concrete gutter by the side of the road. A freak accident that has left her with three cracks on her spinal cord and severely concussed. (more…)

WAEC Declares 14.3% Increase in 2016 Performance as it Releases Best Result in 10 years

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Friday released the May/June 2016West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), and has today (Saturday) opened the portal for result checking. The Head of Nigeria National Office, Olu Adenipekun while briefing journalists said that 878,040 candidates, representing 52.97%, obtained credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics as against 31.28% and 38.68% obtained in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
