Nigerian Writer Ggbenga Adesina’s Featured in New York Times Magazine

Gbenga Adesina first came under our radar in 2014 when he submitted a poem titled “Rediscovery,” a beautiful piece that we went on to publish on Brittle Paper . He continued writing and getting his work out there in various platforms. As it happens for hardworking and talented writers, Adesina is finally on the road to the success of which most writers dream.  A few months ago, he emerged co-winner of the prestigious Brunel University African Poetry Prize [read here if you missed it]. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Elle Magazine SA put together a list of 50 African women who have helped shape the continent in their August 2016 issue and a number of Nigerian women made the list. The women on the list are referred to as “The Incredible” and are recognized for their outstanding efforts in shaping Africa. Plateau Govt Pays 20Million To Chlorine Gas Leak Victims As Compensation

Plateau State government has paid N20 million as compensation to the relatives of the eight victims of last year’s chlorine gas leak from a government water treatment plant along Murtala Mohammed Way, Jos, Plateau State. Reports say about Eight persons in Dakum community had choked to death while about 100 persons were hospitalised when they inhaled chlorine gas released from wrongly placed cylinders stored in the state government’s water treatment plant on the 25th of July 2015.
