A man thought to be the world's oldest man has been discovered by civil servants in Brazil.They say they discovered the 131-year-old dad-of-three living with a wife 69 years his junior. The Guinness Book of Records recognises 112-year-old Yasutaro Koide from Japan as the oldest person alive. At least three people have been killed after an avalanche struck a group of schoolchildren skiing Wednesday in a French Alps resort. According to French officials, a group of 10 high school–age children and their teacher, as well as a Ukrainian man not part of the group, were skiing on a closed run in the Deux Alpes ski resort when they were hit by the wall of snow. The Al Jazeera America cable news channel will shut down at the end of April, the network announced Wednesday, capping a two-and-a-half-year struggle to find an audience amid extremely low ratings. “The economic landscape of the media environment has driven [Al Jazeera America’s] strategic decision to wind down its operations and conclude its service,” the network said in a statement.
