Mikel Obi: Chelsea atmosphere’s much better now than under Jose Mourinho

Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder John Mikel Obi says Chelsea is much more happier under Guus Hiddink and have a better atmosphere in the team than under former manager Jose Mourinho, who was removed by the club owner, Roman Abramovich, before Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Sunderland on 19 December. FG reduces fuel price by 50 kobo per litre

The federal government yesterday reduced the pump price of petrol from N87 to N86.50k per litre with effect from January 1st. In a statement signed by the‎ executive secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) Farouk Ahmed in Abuja, FG said that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) retail stations will sell at N86 per litre, while retail outlets owned by oil marketers will sell at N86.50k per litre. ‎ (more…)

Somali Journalist survives assasination attempt

Somali Journalist and the general secretary of National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSO) Omar Faruk Osman narrowly survived assassination attempt in Mogadishu drive-by-shooting today Tuesday, December 29. According to media reports, Faruk was entering (NUSO) office at Teleh area in Mogadishu when unknown gunmen in a minivan blocked his way and sprayed bullets into his car. At least three people--a bodyguard and two pedestrians were wounded in the attack. (more…)

Lai Mohammed must explain Borno, Adamawa Boko Haram attacks – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the Sunday and Monday’s Boko Haram attacks in Borno and Adamawa States as disheartening and an indictment on the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government, saying that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed must explain to Nigerians how the same Boko Haram that he said had been “technically defeated” could carry out such daring and deadly attacks.
