Rescued Senegalese migrant wins €400,000 in Spain’s Christmas lottery

An unemployed Senegalese man who was rescued by the Spanish coastguard after making a risky journey from Morocco eight years ago on a packed wooden boat won 400,000 euros ($437,000) in Spain’s annual Christmas lottery, local media reported Wednesday.   And I think its safe to say that some Spaniards are more than angry right now lol! The man, identified only by his first name Ngame, was one of the holders of one of the 1,600 tickets with the winning number in the draw draw. (more…)

Technically we have won the war against Boko Haram – Pres. Buhari to BBC

President Buhari says that his government has technically won the war against Boko Haram. He said this in an interview with BBC "I assure you we haven't failed. Adamawa state, Yobe state are free from Boko Haram. Borno state which is there base, I think they have two to three local government. Okeke female hostel at UNN razed by fire (photos)

The Okeke female hostel at University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, was gutted by fire last night. According to an eye-witness, the fire started as a result of a spark from the wire when the school generator supplied power to the hostel. This is the worst fire incident in the university as neither the Dean of student affairs, the director of works department nor the Chairman of Servicom who came around was able to save the situation.
