Nigeria’s house rent collecting system must change – Fashola

Minister for Works, Housing and Power, Babatunde Fashola has called for a review in the way Nigerians pay two years house rent whenever they are seeking to get an apartment. He stated this while speaking at a press conference in Abuja recently “The way we collect rent is something that must change. If we are collecting two years rent in advance from a salary that is going to be earned in arrears monthly, there’s an accounting mismatch. Iranian President calls Buhari about the killing of Shiites

President Buhari yesterday received a call from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani protesting the killing of Shiites during a clash between the Army and the Shiites in Kaduna on Saturday December 12th that left over 60 Shiite members dead. The Iranian president said “minor disputes must not be allowed to turn into deep differences” among Muslims and also demanded for information on the fate of the leader of Nigeria’s “Shia Muslims”. But the video shows Senior Army officers appealing to Shiite members who barricaded a road in Zaria, Kaduna state, which later led to an "undocumented"  incident that brought about the clash between the Army and Shiite members, that resulted in the death of over 60 Shiite members and the attack on the Muslim group leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

Saudi Arabia forms alliance of 34 Muslim nations to fight ISIS

Saudi Arabia has formed a coalition of 34 mainly Muslim countries - including powers such as Egypt and Turkey - to coordinate a fight against "terrorist organisations". The alliance was announced by Mohammed bin Salman, the country's defence minister and deputy crown prince, on Tuesday. National Human Rights Commission to investigate the Army/Shiite clash

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC on Tuesday, has set up a Special Investigative Panel to investigate the circumstances that led to the bloody clash between the Nigerian Army and the Shiite Muslim sect in Northern Nigeria. The clash, which took place during the weekend, took the lives of seven people and injured 10 others.
