Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang’ Nguema appoints his first son Teodoro Obiang’ Mangue as Vice President

Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang’ Nguema has promoted his first son Teodoro ‘Teodorin’ Obiang’ Mangue as the country’s vice-president. Teodorin has been serving as the country's second vice-president, a position that has been abolished in the new government structure. According to the Brazilian newspaper the Terra Brasil, which quoted a local TV station yesterday, Teodoro will also be in charge of Defence and National Security ministry, Africa Review reports.

Wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari has reacted to Ayo Fayose's allegations. Nigeria Will Not Stifle Press Freedom – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has reassured that the Federal Government would not do anything to stifle press freedom. The minister gave the assurance on Tuesday at the Third Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation in Beijing, China. In a statement issued on the event by Mr Segun Adeyemi, the Special Adviser to the Minister, Mohammed described the Nigerian media as one of the most vibrant in Africa and indeed across the world.
