Debbie Reynolds dies at age 84, just a day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher dies

Actress Carrie Fisher, suffered a heart attack while returning from a book signing event in London on Sunday, she never recovered and died on Tuesday. The following day, Wednesday, her 84 year old mother, Debbie Reynolds, who rose to stardom in "Singin' in the Rain" suffered a stroke and died from it. According to TMZ, her son Todd said Debbie was rushed to a hospital shortly after 1 PM when someone at the Beverly Hills home of her son, Todd, called 911 to report a possible stroke. (more…)

Three large quakes hit near Nevada-California state line

San Andreas got us like hope the big one is not coming! A series of earthquakes were reported Wednesday morning near the Nevada-California state line, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The first temblor occurred at 12:22 a.m. Pacific time with a magnitude of 5.7 near Hawthorne, Nev. At least seven quakes with magnitudes between 3-5.6 were reported shortly after.   (more…)

Sultan tells senate to reject gender equality bill

Sa’ad Abubakar lll, the sultan of Sokoto, has asked the upper chamber of the national assembly to reject the bill seeking equality for male and female children in the sharing of inherited family wealth or property. The bill also proposes that a widow should be entitled to the custody of her children unless it is contrary to the interests and welfare of the children. (more…)

President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and the 21 Released Chibok Girls A black American billionaire, Robert Smith, has said that he will sponsor the education of 24 girls from Chibok Community, including the 21 recently rescued Chibok schoolgirls.
