‘I am being investigated for corruption’- Goodluck Jonathan

In an interview with Bloomberg TV this morning, former President Goodluck Jonathan, said he is aware he is being investigated for corruption in Nigeria. Asked if he was aware that he is being investigated, Jonathan said "Of course, obviously we would be investigated and I am being investigated. Yes, investigations are going on" he said He says he wouldn't want to comment on whether the investigators would find anything incriminating. (more…)

Raymond Dokpesi reportedly escapes assassination attempt, police detail shot dead (photo)

Chairman of Daar communications, owners of AIT and RayPower, Raymond Dokpesi, escaped an assassination attempt on his life on Saturday night June 4th. According to The signal, Dokpesi's wife, Tosin complained of stomach ache and was taken to the Child Care and Awareness Clinic at Wuse 2 Abuja, when the armed men accosted her car, asked for Raymond Dokpesi before killing his police security named Sergeant Den Gaius of the FCT Police Command. Jonathan says Nigeria may revisit anti-gay law

Former President Goodluck Jonathan says Nigeria may revisit the anti-gay marriage law which he signed on January 7th 2014. Jonathan said this while speaking at Bloomberg studio today June 6th “When it comes to equality, we must all have the same rights as Nigerian citizens. In the light of deepening debates for all Nigerians and other citizens of the world to be treated equally and without discrimination, and with the clear knowledge that the issue of sexual orientation is still evolving, the nation may at the appropriate time revisit the law” he said

Photos: President Buhari Departs Abuja for London

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday departed Abuja for London, on a 10-day vacation. According to a statement signed by Buhari’s Special Adviser (Media & Publicity),Femi Adesina, and released last night, the president is going taking the trip to “rest” and “see an ENT specialist for a persistent ear infection”.
