Avance Media has announced the 50 finalists for the 2016 ’50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians’ ranking. To be honest the categories of awards present are a bit tipsy and why is there no clear definition of the titles and no proper blogger/new media category? 19-year-old Stephanie Del Valle, representing Puerto Rico won the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant which held on Sunday, 19th December, 2016. The contest which held in MGM National Habour, Oxon Hill, Maryland, USA had 117 contestants from all over the world vying for the crown which Stephanie ultimately won. (more…)

The Nigerian Government said it spends N14,000 daily to feed each prisoner. The Minister for Interior Abdulrahman Danbazzau, who disclosed this last May during a town hall meeting in Kaduna State said that "it is unacceptable for government to be committing N10 billion every year on feeding of prison inmates" However, photos of severely malnourished inmates in Delta State Prison posted on Facebook on Friday, December 16th, by Prince Harrison indicates otherwise.
