Governor Fayose Celebrates 56th Birthday with Physically Challenged

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti on Tuesday said persons with one disability or the other in the state, especially the literate ones are henceforth to enjoy priority attention by government. The governor, who spoke at a ceremony to mark his 56th birthday at the Government House ground in Ado Ekiti, said he deliberately chose to mark the day with the disabled from across the 16 local governments because of his passion for the downtrodden. ASUU Strike: “The body is yet to exhaust the conflict resolution mechanisms clearly mapped out in the labour laws” – FG

Minister of Labour and productivity, Chris Ngige The Federal Government on Tuesday in Abuja appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to rescind its decision to embark on a one week warning strike from November 16. Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment who made the appeal urged ASUU to shelve the strike to make room to address contending issues. (more…)

Conjoined twins meet for the first time after historic surgery in Kenya

It was a joyous moment as the conjoined twins who were successfully separated at the Kenyatta National Hospital on November 2, 2016, finally got to see each other face-to-face for the first time since the delicate surgery. LIB recalls that a team of 50 Kenyan doctors successfully separated the twins; Favour and Blessing, whose lower backs were fused, in a 23-hour surgery. Yoruba actress, Kudirat Ajimat passes away

Yoruba actress, Kudirat Ajimat has passed away. A statement released by Theatre Arts and Movie Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ogun State Chapter, on Tuesday confirmed the news of her death. Part of it read: "The news of her death got to us this morning as a shocker but we don’t have power to stop God from doing what is right in HIS sight. We will seriously miss you and your friendly lifestyle. RIP."
