Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state Goodswill Akpabio has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja tonight. Akpabio served as the governor of the oil producing state for 8 years with his term ending in May 2015. The EFCC started investigating an alleged theft of N108.1billion of Akwa Ibom funds by Akpabio in June. (more…)

President Muhammadu Buhari extends his best wishes for a triumphant outing to the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria who are in Chile to participate in this year's under-17 FIFA World Cup Tournament. As the tournament opens tomorrow, President Buhari urges the Golden Eaglets to do their utmost best to match the outstanding performance of their victorious predecessors who have won the competition four times including the inaugural edition in 1985 and the last tournament in 2013.
Earlier on we announced that Lamar Odom was showing signs of improvement, as his heart had started responding. Now, we are glad to announce that he is awake! After being found unconscious in a brothel, with a white substance coming out of his nose, Khloé Kardashian‘s estranged husband and pro basketballer, Lamar Odom slipped into a comatose state. Rapper Lil Wayne has incorrectly pronounced Lamar Odom dead on Twitter. To make matters worse, sixteen hours later, the tweet is still up. Former Laker (and ex of Khloe Kardashian) Lamar Odom is currently in critical condition at Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center after being found unconscious in a nearby brothel over the weekend. Meanwhile, back in 2013, the YMCMB head honcho, Lil Wayne was “killed” by the internet when rumors began circulating that he was near death and had been read his last rites. (more…)
