Chibok girls alive and kicking, says journalist

Ahmed Salkida, the only journalist known to have some access to the leadership of Boko Haram, says credible sources have told him the Chibok girls are still alive, with some refusing to convert to Islam. Buhari: Any minister involved in corruption will be sacked, tried

President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to sack and prosecute any of his 36 ministers found culpable of any act of corruption. Nigeria unveils Africa’s largest statue of Jesus

A Nigerian businessman is set to unveil what he says is Africa’s largest statue of Jesus, describing it as a symbol of peace in a country wracked by insurgency. Obinna Onuoha commissioned the 8.53 metre (28 foot) tall “Jesus de Greatest” statue in 2013, hiring a Chinese company to carve it out of white marble.
