Court Orders Permanent Forfeiture of N449.6m Seized by EFCC

A Federal High Court on Friday in Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the N449.6 million found in an abandoned Bureau de Change at Victoria Island to the Federal Government. The money was recovered in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The forfeiture order was made by Justice Mohammed Aikawa, following a motion on notice taken before him by the anti-graft agency. (more…)

See the Painting that sold for $110Million at an Auction

Jean-Michel Basquiat’s powerful 1982 painting of a skull was sold for $110.5 million at Sotheby. The painting has become the sixth most expensive work ever sold at auction, according to The New York Times. “He’s now in the same league as Francis Bacon and Pablo Picasso,” said the dealer Jeffrey Deitch, an expert on Basquiat.
