Menswear Fashion Pappaz Attirez ‘Ijinle’ LookBook

Menswear label, Pappaz Attirez, unveils its capsule range of ethnic inspired Nigerian menswear garments tagged, ‘ Ijinle ’.   Well apart from the clear lack in colour blocking skills and bordering between the lines of it's not a new design, we've kind of seen it alot and oh what's that material (pink and ash kaftan)?  It is pleasing to see a Nigerian menswear label with lookbook pieces that are very wearable/commercial and show moderate finishing. Review Orange Culture S/S 2017 Menswear Lookbook

Finally someone had our complaints! Some of the pieces are quite wearable for the average male or tomboy Nigerian as separates. But we all know that Nigerians can be professional hypocrites at times, I won't be surprised to find out that Orange Culture biggest market is Nigeria. The theme:  adolescent rejection. Nigeria was a place before the advent of the popular gay protest, where boys or girls could hold their hands and walk down the street and no one would think about their sexuality. Which I fear would undermine of the concept in this lookbook.   (more…)

MARTÉ EGELE LEAVES NO HOLDS BARRED IN ITS SPRING/SUMMER ’16 LOOKBOOK

  Marté Egele is a leather goods and accessories brand founded in 2011 and influenced by a Uche Egele’s love for art deco and African culture. The brand’s Spring/Summer collection, named ‘No Holds Barred’ was inspired by Uche’s experiences following her move back to Nigeria. ‘No Holds Barred’ features sharp-angled, curvy-edged scarf designs and of course, the core of the Marté Egele brand, art deco and shapes.
