Lagos ranked world’s third Worst city to live in

Lagos state has been ranked the world's third worst city to live in. This is according to the 2016 World livability ranking released by the Economist Intelligence Unit yesterday Thursday August 18th. Out of 140 countries that was used during the survey, Lagos came 138th just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus. (more…)

12-car Calabar Monorail Ready for Inauguration

As part of efforts to ease movement in the state capital, the multi-billion Naira Calabar Light rail project will soon be inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari. The 12-car monorail system, when fully operational, will use an Intamin P8 electric powered passenger shuttle train to convey passengers from Tinapa Resort across Lake Tinapa to Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC). Rihanna Takes an Epic Selfie with This Huge Statue of Herself in Berlin

 During her recent trip to Berlin, Rihanna had an unusual encounter with a massive, headless version of herself on the street. Created by Columbian artist Juan Sebastián Peláez, the statue is in fact a piece of artwork exhibited as part of the ninth Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art. After meeting Peláez himself, the ANTI singer posed happily in front of the huge, bikini-clad installation for an epic selfie. (more…)

Fiji declares public holiday after winning first ever Olympic medal

The tiny pacific nation of Fiji has won its first ever Olympic medal after thumping Great Britain 43-7 in the rugby sevens final to scoop the gold medal. Wild celebrations erupted across the island nation as drivers leapt out of their cars and people took to the streets to wave the national flag, phone carriers offered free calls.  Fiji Airways, the national carrier, announced the only beer it will serve on today will be Fiji Gold, a popular local beverage; and the government declared August 22 a national holiday to mark the win.
